What do you want in your life? It’s a question I often asked in my work to make people get a goal or joy back in their lives. I asked myself the question this week. Interesting to take some of my own medicine. It’s all nice to tell others how things are done, but I have to think about it myself too some times.
Of course I have some idea about what I want. I have a motto ‘desire to inspire’. That’s nice, but not very specific. I can be an inspiration to the world every day, just by being me.
I read an article in which seven questions were asked to get clear on what you want.
Who’s your hero?
Something in the person you admire must be in you.. Of course I have that in me, it’s just still in progress.
My heroes are Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer en Doreen Virtue. All these people inspire the world by who they are. They have come up with different ways to get people to be aware of the own qualities. Their success is in their passion about what they share.
What things do you do effortless?
A question about what you like to do best, because it will be effortless. I love to talk/write about the subject of awareness. I love to talk to people about what they feel and think and dream about.
What would you do if money was no issue?
Today I asked this question and I made a mind map. A map with a main subject and subdirectories to specifics. I want a place where people can make the world nicer. Where by creative thinking people can start fun projects which benefit the world. For example making recycling fun by using old materials to make new fun items and selling them. The money can be used to invest in learning projects for others.
What will people say about you after you retire?
What would people laugh about in your career (positively speaking), what will they admire?
I think people will mention the career change from secretary to the health care business when I was about 40 years old. My unique way of saying and doing things will be mentioned, as will my optimism and perseverance. They might say that it took me 46 years to get clear on what I wanted and that the unique place to share knowledge has been a success for over 20 years. My book about my life with Betty and the card set that goes with is a hit and being reprinted again.
What gives you satisfaction in your work?
Satisfaction means that the result you get of what you started out to accomplish is there. I get my satisfaction if a person I helped is able to progress and is happy about it. For myself it’s when something I planned works out the way I wanted it to.
What would you do tomorrow if you knew you couldn’t fail?
I would make a one woman show with my Betty, to tell the story about the ego and what it does. It would be a comical mirror show in which people may find recognition.
Well those 7 questions were interesting. It’s nice to think about them and it got me inspired to go and do what I want. It’s not going to be finished by next week, but not getting started will get me no where.
