images08E3J6Y4“Why do people kiss each other?” The simplest answer is, because it feels good.

Scientist who work on this question call themselves  philematologists. I love the word!! Scientists says that the origin of kissing can be found by mice and rats??

kus1Animals like rats and mice sniffle at each other. The sniffling   is a sort of greeting and is claimed to be a good way of finding out if there is a match for mating.

Even in modern times kissing is a way to sniffle at a potential love partner. If we bring our faces close to each other or pheromones start working. Biological information is being exchanged so we know if someone is suitable.

images5HKHQL29A logical question would be where does French kissing come from. Scientists have an answer for that too. This would origin from the animal kingdom. From the birds to be specific. Mother birds seek food and feed the children in the mouth. French kissing would be a form of feeding love to someone. (This explanation made me laugh).

images7OL38OKDKissing seems to do wonders for our health, as does hugging. For those of you who want to loose weight.. pay attention! Kissing is good for losing 6,4 calories! If you practise kissing for 15 minutes the amount is 30 calories!! I can see a kissing-diet coming soon. )  It has more advantages. It’s a excellent stress killer and you feel great afterwards due to the endorphins that are made by the brain. Kissing has a rejuvenating effect because of the work out for the face muscles.

It must be a pleasant way of spending time, because humans spent 20.160 minutes (that’s about two weeks non stop) kissing in a lifetime.

I intend to keep kissing, a way of growing old healthy. Who wouldn’t like that? imagesYPJO0SMC
