What do you want to be once you grow up? Me.. I didn’t have a profession but a feeling. I just wanted to be happy. This is the opening line of my elevator pitch.
How can you combine happiness with work? Many people work because they have to. Money is a necessary evil. People tend to stay in their jobs because it gives them a sense of security. . In the library of my live, department ‘work” there are many stories. I have learned a lot from all the different jobs I have had. Years ago I felt like Cinderella because I was a dreamer. I started in a new job with enthusiasm and curiosity about the people. I wanted to know who they were and what they felt. Unfortunately my co workers must have been related to the evil stepsisters. Their only concern was defending their job and making the department a productive and nice place to be, wasn’t on their list of priorities.
You need people like the stepsisters in your live to discover who you are. If you pay attention and learn, you will grow stronger and you will be able to walk like a happy princess amongst your co workers, not feeling the need to compete or acting out of ego if someone seems more popular.
I have found my feeling of happiness in the health care business. It gives me joy to stand beside a person who starts seeing that he has power and beauty.
My dream is… that work is not work, but following your heart. To do what makes your eyes twinkle, makes your heart sing and that this feeling will be picked up by others, like a popular summer song.
The world is on its way to become a better place… I will keep dreaming….
